Feran was a software development project manager, recently promoted from team lead. Feran has completed his PMI certification. He applies the formal PM techniques vigorously, and is enthusiastic about developing his project team. In the past weeks, project progress reporting has shown that Feran current’s project is falling behind schedule. Roelf is asked to work with him.
Feran is having difficulty managing conflict, both within his project team and and among the project’s clients. Roelf works with Feran for eight weeks. In the first two, they work through Feran’s soft skill preference profile. In the last 6, Roelf coaches Feran through the steps needed to resolve both his team and his client conflicts. The project recovers its lost time and moves forward smoothly. |
